Hello again! I’m back for a second time today, thanks to my regular Sunday dip into ClarityCrafts’ craft club back issues. Today it’s the turn of die #37, the ‘thank you floral flourish’ aperture from January 2022. I decided to use the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches together with the colours from Just Add Ink

I started by cutting the die into a small square of Clarity’s stencil card, which I’d trimmed down a little further. I took another of the small squares and blended ‘evergreen bough’, ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘squeezed lemonade’ Distress Oxide onto it.

I’d blended the ink onto the square on the diagonal, so that the yellow sat behind the ‘thank you’ when I glued them together.

I edged the topper with a black Sharpie and had originally just intended to attach it straight to the card blank. I felt it needed something more, though (it looked very harsh against the white background), and happily found a piece of ‘Antarctica’ designer paper that was in exactly the right colours – isn’t serendipity wonderful! I put a layer of that on the card front and then added the topper. If I’d looked at this beforehand, I could have just taken the backing for the die cut from the designer paper, but hey ho!

I do love this die – it doesn’t need much else other than some designer paper behind it, which makes it breat if you need to make several cards at once. All the back issues of Clarity’s craft club are available on their website – here’s a quick summary of all the products I used on this card.
