Hello there! I’m back with some more strips of scrap paper on today’s card, which will be heading off to an friend of mine from New York who always throws a 4th of July party for her American friends in London. I thought I’d have a second punt at Just Add Ink‘s ‘choose two’ challenge, this time with narrower strips of paper using the palette from Color Throwdown

I started by creating the background on a square of white card by lightly brushing ‘walnut stain’ Distress Oxide trhough ClarityCrafts’ ‘brick wall’ stencil, keeping it to the centre of the card.

I cut 1cm strips of red & blue paper from offcuts of ‘Waimea Falls’ companion paper, together with a couple of ones in white card (I’ve got a whole box of white card scraps that I need to get used up!) I used the star stamp from the ‘grunge shapes’ that was Clarity’s May Craft Club set to stamp across the white strips, using ‘cobalt’ Archival ink.

I based the layout on a card I’d seen on social media and spent a little time arranging the strips to give me a balanced look. I wanted to weave then at the bottom corner – the easiest way to do this was to part glue the outer edges to fix them in place, then weave them and glue the bottom ends down.

I finished with the ‘celebrate your day’ sentiment from one of the KISS stamp sets and a final full image of the grunge star, again all in ‘cobalt’ Archival.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope your Monday’s gone well and it’s been a good start to your week. There are some exciting new Clarity products launching later this week – watch this space!
