dream believe hope

Welcome to my crafty blog featuring another of ClarityCrafts layout stamps, this time the ‘treescape doodle layout montage’. These are so handy for creating a larger card with small stamps – this one features the cricketer from the ‘wee sports people’ set, in recognition of the first Test match in this year’s Ashes series. For the uninitiated, the Ashes is a series of matches between the English and Australian cricket teams, so called because when the English first lost to the Aussies back in the 19th century, they burned the bails from the stumps in disgust – those ashes are in a small wooden urn which is now the trophy! (Can you tell I used to be married to a keen amateur cricketer?!)

Anyway, back to the crafting! I pulled another inky mop-up piece from my stash (that’s two used in the last week!), trimmed it to fit on a 6×6 card blank and stamped the layout montage onto it using black Versafine Clair ink.

I stamped the cricketer into the central square, then added a few of the trees from the layout set. I ran a piece of low tack tape along the edge of one of the frames and stamped the top of the smallest tree to create some shrubbery. I added a flock of birds in the sky – heading safely out of the way of the ball!

I glued the topper onto a black 6×6 card blank and finished with a KISS word sticker – which I think sums up the current state of every England cricket fan!

I know my sons will be asking me for birthday cards for their father soon, so that’s one in the bag! I’m heading off to share this with a couple of challenges. The theme at Time Out is ‘sportive’ and I’ve picked up the right hand diagonal of just because, stripes & black cardbase from TicTacToe‘s grid.

  1. Great card, love this montage stamp.
Could you provide a link to it please? I scrolled through 50 pages of stamps before I gave up looking. Unfortunately there’s no search button on the Clarity site.
    Thanks
