wee houses

Hello again and welcome to Monday! I’m still not 100%, so spent a restorative couple of hours crafting this afternoon – I am not good at being under the weather! Anyway, I put together a card using ClarityCrafts ‘wee houses’ stamp set as a last minute offering for Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches, with added inspiration from the photo at Just Us Girls.

I started by stamping four of the houses onto a square of white card – I popped a strip of low tack tape on the card front to give me a line to aim for and (hopefully) get the houses stamped level.

I covered them up with the pre-cut masks, ran a strip of low tack tape down the side and above the houses, then popped the hills mask from the ‘build-a-scene’ set underneath them. I blended ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide onto the card below the houses and used the clouds mask from the set to create the sky, again with the ‘salvaged patina’.

Having lifeted all the masks and tape off the card, I coloured the houses using red and yellow Pergaliner pencils.

I mounted the topper on a piece of co-ordinating card that I found in my stash and then attached it to a 6×6 card blank, finishing with one of the sentiments from the ‘occasions – merry Christmas’ set.

What do you think? I haven’t used these stamps much (how often do I say that??), but they’re perfect for new home cards. Here’s a summary of the main products I’ve used:

  1. I think this is delightful. I love those little houses and that you kept this interesting with other details but very CAS. A nice card. I’m sorry you are under the weather and hope you are 100% soon.
