Clarity craft club lookback – brick wall with cats & dogs dies

Hello crafty friends. I’ve been feeling a bit better today, so spent a therapeutic couple of hours at my craft desk (obviously, I’m still not feeling up to doing the housework…!) As it’s Sunday, I picked up the next set of dies from Clarity’s Craft Club, this time the ‘brick wall with cats & dogs’ set from November 2021. You’ve no doubt already worked out that I didn’t use the brisk wall or dog dies from the set…! I thought the three little cats would make a fun outdoor scene with the colours from Color Hues

Miraculously, I found an inky mop-up piece in my stash that was in the right colours! I stamped the outline from Clarity’s ‘square clean & tidy layout’ set onto it and trimmed it down.

I added a couple of the little butterflies from the ‘floral delights – happy birthday’ set, together with the bush from the ‘birdhouse garden’ set, shading the butterflies with a green Pergaliner pencil. I used the outer part of a small moon mask to create the sun, blending a little yellow ink through it.

I then die cut the three little cats and added them into the scene. I love this trio – they really look like they’re planning mischief, chasing butterflies!

To finish, I attached the card to a 6×6 card blank and added one of the KISS word stickers

Thanks for dropping in. If you want any of the Clarity Craft Club back issues, they’re all available on their website here

  1. Clarity’s ‘square clean & tidy layout’ stamp is fantastic, and I love what you’ve created with it! The butterflies and greenery are great additions, but those cat silhouettes are just perfect for it. What a striking card! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!

  2. The layout stamp certainly made for a wonderful kitty playground, and adding the butterflies ties the scene together so well! The Inky background was a lucky find and works so perfectly to create the feel of a summer day! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Color Hues!
