Hello there. Well, it’s Sunday again so I’ve dipped back into Clarity’s Craft Club for today’s card, this time to #33, the ‘happy birthday musical notes’ dies from September 2021.

I took inspiration for today’s card from a couple of blog challenges. Just Add Ink have very helpfully got ‘music’ as their theme this week, and I’m also going to share it with Seize the Birthday

Nothing too complicated about this design! I started with a piece of ‘Barb’s favourite – Antarctica’ paper, which I trimmed to a 9cm square. I cut each of the dies out of black card (adding ‘Stick It’ adhesive sheet on the back first so I didn’t have to glue them) and attached them to the top and bottom edges of the paper.

The notes in the musical stave die play the first line of ‘happy birthday’, so the choice of the sentiment from the ‘floral delights – happy birthday’ set was a bit of a no brainer! I just stamped it in black Versafine Clair, then mounted the paper on a layer of white card followed by one in black. You’ll have noticed that the treble clef at the top overlapped the coloured paper (I wanted the top of the stave to sit along the edge), so the white layer framed it nicely. The whole piece then went onto a 5×5 card blank.

These dies do all the work on this card, so it really didn’t need much else. Incidentally, the back issues of Clarity’s Craft Club are all available on their website – check them out here

Such a fun card! The background paper sets off the dies perfectly and I love that the music is the opening notes of Happy Birthday. So glad you joined in our music challenge at Just Add Ink. Kerry, DT
