So Im well and truly back in the flow now, following my holiday, so I’ve restarted working back through my Clarity Craft Club supplies picking up where I left off in March. Today’s card features Linda Williams’ love aperture die (#32) from August 2021

I started with the background, having cut a piece of white card to fit a 5×7 card blank. I used brushes to blend ‘mowed lawn’, ripe persimmon’ and ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxides across it to give an ombre effect

I knew how I wanted to place the die and needed to add something into the corners (I learned my lesson from yesterday’s card!) so used Clarity’s ‘hearts’ stencil on the top & bottom corners. I used the brushes that I’d done the background with, without adding any more ink onto them. I then ran a black Sharpie around the edges and attached it to the 5×7 card blank.

I then cut the die into a small square of white card and used my paper trimmer to cut it into the individual letter squares, which I glued onto the card front on the diagonal.

It still needed a little more, so I stamped the small butterflies from the ‘floral delights – happy birthday’ set onto a scrap piece of card. I shaded them with green & peach Pergaliner B pencils, blending the colour with a little Dorso Oil and a blending nib (as demonstrated by Barbara on Friday’s TV shows). I fussy cut them (it was a bit fiddly!) and glued them onto the card front.

Thanks for dropping in and I hope you’re having a good holiday weekend. I’m heading over to share this with a couple of challenges. I picked up the colours and the butterfly from Inkspirational‘s moodboard, together with the bottom row of diecut, ombre & shapes from TicTacToe‘s grid.
