age not found…

I’m back with another masculine card today, this time using the now-retired ‘tech support’ set from Stampin’ Up! I adapted this design from a card I saw on Pinterest, adding in inspiration from Color Hues and Happy Little Stampers.

I started by blending ‘ripe persimmon’ Distress Oxide onto a piece of white card, keeping it towards the left side, then used my stamping platform to repeat stamp the sentiment down the right hand side in ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink. To get the words evenly stamped, I popped a couple of pieces of masking tape on the platform base where the stamp sat, then moved the card down each time lining it up with the masking tape.

I cut a layer of grey card which I glued onto the front of an A6 card, twisting it so it was offset, the attached the stamped topper onto it.

I stamped the other sentiment from the set in the ‘ripe persimmon’, ran a black Sgarpie around it and attached it to the card front, together with a grey banner at the top and a few orange enamel dots. I’d intended to stop here but didn’t really like the open orange space, so decided to add a little stencilling. Now I should have done this before completing the card! Anyway, I popped masking tape along the edges of the topper and over the sentiment, then brushed grey ink through Clarity’s small circles stencil.

It looked much better when I’d done that, but I really do need to improve on my planning skills before starting a card instead of making it up as I go along!

  1. Deborah, this is one of the most creative cards I have seen in quite some time. Love the repeated sentiment trick (thanks for sharing) and the stenciled background. Very, well done! Thanks for playing along with us at Color Hues!
