Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card features a Claritystamp that I haven’t used in a while, the ‘funky foliage’. I took the colours from Just Us Girls with the inspiration photo from The Card Concept (although you may think my interpretation of it is a bit left field…!)

I started with a background piece that I created on Clarity’s retreat last year, using pink acrylic paint and a brayer. I trimmed it down to fit a 6×6 card blank, then created a moon using a circle mask and Distress Oxides in ‘pumice stone’ and ‘walnut stain’. I stamped the ‘funky foliage’ using black Versafine Clair ink.

I coloured the flowers and leaves with Pergaliner pencils, blending a couple of light browns to pick up the tone of the kraft card and added the sentiment. After edging the card with a black Sharpie, I mounted it on a layer of white and then onto a 6×6 kraft card blank.

It’s quite an arty card for me – my son is always telling me I need to make more use of inky or painty backgrounds (after all, I only created this one 6 months ago!)

That funky foliage is fun! Terrific card, Deborah. Your son is right, this “inky/painty” background looks great. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Us Girls!
