Welcome to my crafty blog and a tasty basket of apples to start the week, using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘cheerful basket’ set. I was inspired by the sketch at Inspire.Create, picking up the tones from Color Throwdown and the border theme from Can You Handle The Pressure

I started by embossing the side of a square of white card with SU’s ‘pinewood planks’ folder, added a strip of ‘dandy delights’ DSP (from the current Saleabration) across the middle and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

I stamped the basket and the group of apples and coloured them with SU Blends alcohol markers – ‘poppy parade’ & a pink Promarker for the apples, ‘granny appple green’ for the leaves and three of the skin tones (200, 400 & 600) for the basket. After die cutting them, I glued the two pieces together.

I stamped the sentiment from the ‘cheerful basket’ set onto white card – I did this in two halves by masking part of the sentiment each time. I rounded the corners on the card and glued it to sit behind the apples, then attached the whole piece to the card front, finishing with a few red matte dots.

‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’, so whoever gets this card should be OK for a while!
Great card! Love that basket of apples!

Your apples and basket look great, awesome coloring! Love that woodgrain folder too, just the small embossed area adds a lot to the design. Thanks for playing along with us at Can You Handle the Pressure!
