Treescape

Welcome to my crafty blog and a get well card using Clarity’s design of the week – the treescape. I’ve got the die in this design, but today went with the three-way overlay stamp set, inspired by the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Color Hues

I started with a piece of card trimmed to fit on a 5×7 card blank and stamped the first outline image in Versafine Clair black ink. I lined up the second stamp (which colours the trees) using my stamp platform, sponged Distress Oxides in ‘bundled sage’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ onto it and stamped it over the first image.

I popped a moon mask over the corner of the image, then lined up the third stamp to fill in the background, again using the same two inks but reversing them so the ‘bundled sage’ was on the ground and ‘ripe persimmon’ in the sky.

I left the moon mask in place, added a couple of strips of low tack tape to form the panel from Freshly Made Sketches’ layout and cut a piece of all-over sticky note to mask off the treescape. I then used blending brushes to add the two inks onto the panel.

I ran a deckled edge along the two sides of the panel with a micron pen, edged the cards with a black Sharpie and attached it to the card blank, finishing with one of Clarity’s word stickers.

Thanks for dropping in. I can’t believe it’s the weekend again already – hope you’ve got good things planned!
