Well I’m back with a second post today, this time for the new challenge at As You See It. Joanne has come up with a gorgeous colour palette, and I went back to Stampin’ Up!’s ‘framed florets’ set which was still on my desk from earlier this week. I picked up the sketch from Atlantic Hearts and tied the sentiment into Time Out‘s theme.

I first embossed a square of ‘night of navy’ card with SU’s retired ‘pinewood planks’ folder and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I then die cut a heart and stamped the sentiment from ‘framed florets’ onto it before adding it to the card front.

I stamped the floral swag from the set and coloured the flowers with SU Write markers in ‘sweet sorbet’, ‘polished pink’ and ‘tahitian tide’, using a blender pen to shade out the colours. I don’t have a ‘night of navy’ pen, so substituted ‘misty moonlight’ for the leaves. Once the flowers were die cut, they went alopng the side of the heart.

I added a single flower which I’d coloured with ‘sweet sorbet’ onto the opposite side of the heart to balance it out, then finished with a few ‘tahitian tide’ resin dots (you may have noticed by now that I am rather partial to an enamel dot or two!)

So how will you use our challenge colours? If you head over to As You See It there’s more inspiration from my fabulous team mates to help get you started – you’ve got until Wednesday 8th Feb to join in.
Just beautiful!

So pretty! Love the colors and you are brilliant at positioning the enamel dots. Looks so nice set against the embossed navy. Thank you for joining the challenge at AHSC.

This is just so beautiful. I forget how effective a dark card front can be – and when embossed with Pinewood Planks, how could it not turn out well?! I think that’s probably my favourite ever embossing folder. Well done, Deborah – another beauty!

I love that Night of Navy panel embossed with the Pinewood Planks EF! It’s the perfect backdrop to your delicate white heart and floral designs! And I think those little Tahitian Tide drops are the crowning glory!

We were definitely vibing in the same way for this challenge Deborah – I started out with the same sketch too, but didn’t like the border element so tweaked it. I love the dark embossed surround – it really makes your heart standout and highlights the sentiment and floral swag beautifully. Fab card!
