Welcome to day 5 of my 12 Days of Clarity, today using the ‘grunge texture block’ stamp from the May Craft Club. I took inspiration from Barbara Gray’s design on the project sheet and used it to create the background for a little scene.

I strated by stamping the texture block twice onto a square of card – once in ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide, then rotated the card and stamped it on the opposite end in ‘chipped sapphire’. I’d originally planned to have the ‘speckled egg’ in the sky, but decided it looked better the other way up!

I used the ‘woodland miniatures’ stamp set and added the trees with black Versafine Clair ink.

I sat the stag in the foreground, then used a torn piece of copy paper and a small sponge to add shade below him and under the trees.

I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges then attached it to a 5×5 card blank. The final touch was one of Clarity’s word stickers, which I also edged with a Sharpie before popping it onto the card.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m feeling quite pleased with myself today – not only did I tidy the cupboard underneath the kitchen sink, but I also sorted out lots of my stamps and got them into labelled storage folders on my shelves. There’s more to do, but I suspect the urge will have worn off before I’ve finished the job!!
