Hello crafty friends. I’ve gone for stencilling on today’s card, using sponges and the ‘poppies’ stencil from Clarity Crafts. I picked up the colours from Just Add Ink, and I’ll also share it with Happy Little Stampers for their stencil challenge and Seize the Birthday (although I haven’t used their optional ‘topping’ of halloween colours)

The first step was to fix the stencil to a piece of Clarity’s stencil card using masking take as a hinge and then sponge Artistry inks through it. I started with ‘tenacious teal’ for the leaves and stems – having the hinge meant I could then open the stencil away from the card and clean the ink off before adding the second colour, but without losing the stencil’s position. Once clean, I folded it back together and sponged ‘gorgeous grapes’ ink into the centre of the flowers and on the base of the seedheads. I cleaned the stencil again, then finished the flowers with ‘blushing rose’ ink.

I found some matching purple card and cut a frame from it using a couple of square nested dies. I glued the frame onto the stencilled image nad then attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

I finished with a couple of Clarity’s word stickers – I ran a black Sharpie around the edges of the stickers before attaching them to the card.

A nice and simple card, but I think it looks effective. The key is cleaning the stencil between each colour so the different areas don’t get contaminated.
Your stencilled flowers are just lovely and what a great way to use the challenge colours. Thanks so much for joining us at Just Add Ink.

Lovely stenciled card. Great tip of “hinging” the stencil to the card panel – clever! Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.
