Christmas border

Hello there. Today’s card is another one on the road to Christmas, but this time I’ve gone for less traditional colours, using the palette from CAS Colours & Sketches. I love the look of this border stamp designed by Hazel Eaton for Julie Hickey Designs, which nicely picks up the ‘trees’ theme from Global Design Project together with the ‘anything CAS’ from AAA Cards

I started with a square of white card and used my stamping platform to stamp te border along the bottom edge in two colours. I first inked the snowflakes & stars using a SU Write marker in ‘mint macaron’ and stamped them into place. I then used a small Artistry inkpad in ‘dry weed’ to ink the trees, then re-stamped the image.

I added the sentiment from the set, using Artistry’s ‘gorgeous grapes’, together with a few little snowflakes in ‘mint macaron’ (one of which is hiding a smudge!)

I mounted it on a layer of matching dark purple card and then onot a 5×5 card blank. I also retouched one of the stars on the trees with the mint pen, as it had got overstamped with the ‘dry weed’.

This will be a great design to batch make – I think I might also try it on other colour combinations.

  1. That’s a beautiful card, Deborah, and I love the cute stamped images. I especially like the tiny snowflakes around the sentiment! 🙂 Thank you for joining us this week at CC&S!
