As You See It rectangle sketch

Hello there. I’m back with a second post today, this time for the new challenge at As You See It. Joanne’s designed this versatile sketch for us, which has lots of possibilities. I decided it was time my ‘art gallery’ set from Stampin’ Up! had another outing, using the colours from Colour INKspiration

I started with the background, laying a piece of white card onto a mat of basic gray and then oneo a 5×7 card blank. I cut two narrow rectangular borders using nested dies which I glued onto the card front, offset from each other, then stamped the flower stem in the gray and part of the floral spray in ‘starry sky’. I used a SU Write marker to colour the stamp, so I could just pick out part of the image.

I then stamped the large flower in ‘mango melody’, adding a little of the ‘starry sky’ to highlight the centre, before die cutting it and attaching to the card front with foam pads.

I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner, using the ‘starry sky’ and popped that onot foam pads under the flower. A scattering of silver gems finished it off.

If you head on over to As You See It you’ll find the brilliant design team cards from my teammates, which we hope inspire you to come and join us!

  1. Those wonky outline frames are a great way to make a feature of that sketch element and I love the bright flowers too. So elegant – a fabulous card Deborah!

  2. Deborah, I haven’t used the images in Art Gallery for so long (although I use the sentiments a lot) but when I saw this card over at Colour INKspiration I was struck by how beautiful it is. Your card is lovely and I think the use of those off-set rectangular frames is inspired! You’ve taken the sketch and really run with it.

  3. I love how you’ve slightly altered the element in the sketch to add to the artistry of your design, Deborah! And It’s good to see the Art Gallery stamps get a turn in the spotlight again! Lovely colours, too! Beautiful card!
