wedding cake

Hello crafty friends. I managed to get some time today for an online crafting session wiht my sister – we were both using the ‘to have and to hold’ stamp from last month’s Claritystamp Craft Club. As always we produced very different cards! I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts for my layout on this one and will also share it with Can You Handle The Pressure as I used an embossing folder on the background.

So I started with the background and a piece of pink card cut to fit a 5×7 card blank. I trimmed it into six squares and embossed three of them with swiss dots using a folder that I’ve had for years. I glued the pieces back together onto a thin piece of backing card, alternating the plain and embossed squares, then attached it to the card front.

I stamped the cake image onto a piece of white card and fussy cut it, then restamped it onto a scrap of Clarity’s ‘Amazonia’ designer paper and just cut out the cake itself. I then glued them together, so the cake was sat on a white stand.

I attached another piece of white card to the pink background and mounted the cake onto it, using foam pads for dimension.

I finished with a die cut strip of hearts using one of Clarity’s border frame-it dies and a word sticker.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back with another card tomorrow

  2. I love the one colour but using embossing to create the patchwork, so great! Fabulous card, I love it! Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).
