Claritystamp craft club lookback – sing your song

Hello there! Having shared a brand new purchase yesterday, I’m back with my Sunday dip into Claritystamp’s Craft Club back issues and today it’s the ‘sing your song’ stamp from November 2020. This is such a cheerful little stamp!

I started by stamping the bird & trees onto white card using ‘black soot’ Distress Oxide, so that I could then heat emboss it with clear powder. I cut it out with a nested circle die, then blended a little ‘mustard yellow’ Distress Oxide behind the trees and around the edge of the circle.

Now, although I’m using an older stamp, I felt I should put into practice at least one of the techniques I picked up at Claritystamp’s Open Day yesterday. I watched the brilliant Sam Crowe using inks and stencils on a Gelli plate, so adapted her tips. I smooshed some ‘mustard seed’ and ‘antique linen’ onto my craft mat, spritzed it with water and picked it up with a piece of Clarity’s stencil card. Having dried it off with my heat gun, I used one of the sections from the ‘bubbles decorative panel’ stencil and brushed more of the ‘mustard seed’ through it, followed by a few highlighted bits in ‘black soot’ (can you ‘highlight’ in black…?). I attached a strip of black card to a 5×7 card blank and then glued the stencilled card on top.

I added the sentiment from the craft club stamp across the bottom of the circle, coloured the bird with a yellow marker and attached it to the card front. I finished with a few black resin dots,

Thanks for dropping in. I’m heading off to share this with a few blog challenges. I’ve used the colours from Color Hues and the layout from Inspire.Create. The team at Festive Friday are celebrating World Music Day and I thought this image was perfect – I’ve picked up music notes, black, embossing & circles from their inspo list.
