Claritystamp craft club lookback – wicker texture

Hello there – well it’s Sunday again so time for another dip back into the Claritystamp craft club back issues. Today I’m using the ‘wicker texture’ stamps from May 2020 – I didn’t find this one very easy to use, but it’s great for adding texture & colour to patterns. I have made a couple of cards with this before – here’s a link for you to check out. 12 Days of Clarity – day 5 May ‘wicker texture’ stamp

I decided to go with another masculine theme today, and started by stamping several of the open diamonds from Clarity’s ‘Sam’s shapes’ onto a square of white card in ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink.

I stamped the diamond onto a scrap piece of paper and then cut out the centre to give me a mask. I covered each of the diamonds in turn and stamped the ‘wicker texture’ into them, using Distress Oxides in ‘mustard seed’ and ‘chipped sapphire’. I went for a half-and-half effect on the central diamonds, so the colours flowed. Looking at it now, I think it would have been good to have done all the diamonds this way.

I wanted to give it a frame on the card, so repeated yesterday’s technique and blended the ‘mustard seed’ and ‘chipped sapphire’ around the edge of a 6×6 card blank.

I attached the topper to the card blank, together with a die cut banner onto which I’d stamped the sentiment in the ‘shadow grey’. I scattered a few grey Glossies around the diamonds as the finishing touch.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend. I’m heading over to Color Throwdown to share this card, which uses their colour palette
