grace

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses a mixture of old and new stamps from Julie Hickey Designs – I always enjoy mixing things up. For this one I’ve used the sketch from Fusion and picked up the pink tulips in their photo. The colour scheme is thanks to Inspire.Create, who’ve challenged us to use black, white and one other colour.

I started by running an A6 card blank through Stampin’ Up!’s ‘subtles’ embossing folder, so the front was textured. I masked off a panel down the left hand side and blended ‘kitsch flamingo’ Distress Oxide onto it. I then masked off a panel across the lower part and repeated the blending. Once dry, I stamped the leaves from Julie’s ‘fresh florals’ set in black Archival ink.

I cut a black border from Claritystamp’s square ‘frame-it’ die and glued that across the lower panel. I stamped the tulips from the new ‘floral buttons’ set onto a piece of white card, then used a waterbrush to colour the flowers with the ‘kitsch flamingo’ and the leaves in ‘black soot’. Once dry, I fussy cut it and attached it to the card front with foam pads.

All it needed was one of Claritystamp’s word stickers in black to finish.

I love the effect of the pink and black together. This will be heading to someone at my church as a thank you.
