Claritystamp craft club lookback – marvellous macaw

Hello crafty friends. Well, it’s Sunday again so here’s my next dip back into Claritystamp’s craft club – I’m now up to April 2020 and the ‘marvellous macaw’ stamp.

I used this little fellow in my end of year trip back through the craft club for 2020, but he hasn’t been out again since. You can see what I did then here: 12 Days of Clarity – day 4 April ‘marvellous macaw’ I did have to think for a bit to come up with a new design for him this time, but hopefully this one works. I started by stamping the macaw onto white card and coloured him with a waterbrush using Distress Oxides in ‘festive berries’, ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘mermaid lagoon’. I’ve tried to keep my birdwatching friends happy by following the plumage of the scarlet macaw! Once dry, I fussy cut the image.

I then stamped the birdcage from the 2013 New Design Club onto white card using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I added and inked ground below it with a sponge and piece of torn paper, then blended Distress Oxides in ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘kitsch flamingo’ around the edge.

I die cut one of the corners from the ‘thank you floral frame’ die in white card, then coloured it with the ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘kitsch flamingo’. I glued that to the bottom corner of the birdcage, then added the sentiment across the top before attaching it to an A6 card blank.

The final step was to perch the macaw on top of the birdcage (definitely not inside!) using foam pads.

Thanks for dropping in. I took inspiration for this one from the current photo over at The Card Concept, using their colours as well.
