B is for blooms

Hello there. It’s time for a new theme over at the Alphabet Challenge – we’re now onto B and Debbie has chosen ‘blooms’ for us. We’d love you to join us – you’ve got until Thursday 5th May to share your floral creations.

I decided to go with Julie HIckey’s ‘daisy medley’ stamp, as the border is just full of blooming flowers. I started by stamping it onto white card and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine white power. I then blended Distress Oxides in ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘picked raspberry’ across the image.

I highlighted the flowers with the Distress Oxides and a waterbrush, also colouring the leaves with ‘mowed lawn’. Once dry, I cut the frame out with the matching die from the ‘happy frame’ set.

I cut a slightly larger piece of white card and blended more of the ‘mowed lawn’ onto it, then die cut the central ‘happy’ into it (top tip – I positioned the die cut frame on the green card so that I could make sure the ‘happy’ die was properly aligned in the centre). I then attached the embossed frame to the green mount and popped the whole piece onto an A6 card blank.

The final touch was to stamp the ‘birthday’ from the ‘daisy medley’ set and add it to the card front with foam pads.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m sharing this with a couple of other challenges – the colour palette is from Color Throwdown and the layout picks up Freshly Made Sketches
