Welcome to my crafty blog, and another card ready for Mother’s Day next month. This time I’ve used Claritystamp’s ‘leafy swirl’ aperture die, with the colours from this week’s Color Throwdown. I took the layout from the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, plus one of my favourite techniques (blending brushes) thanks to TGIF challenges

I started by cutting the ‘leafy swirl’ die into the front of a 6×6 card blank. I masked the surrounding border with low tack tape and then used blending brushes to colour the die cut – ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide in the lower part and ‘bundled sage’ towards the top.

I cut another piece of white card larger than the die cut and blended ‘spun sugar’ Distress Oxide and ‘wild plum’ Adirondack inks onto it, so I had an ombre effect. I spritzed some water on it, which I blotted with paper towel, just to give break up the texture a bit. I then attached the card to the inside of the card blank, behind the die cut image.

I then die cut one of Clarity’s ‘doodle frame-it’ borders and glued that to sit around the die cut.

I finished by stamping the sentiment stamps from Hazel Eaton’s ‘all about the boys and ‘all about the girls’ sets onto a strip of card, which sat across the top left on foam pads. I mirrored it across the bottom right with one of Clarity’s word stickers.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.
So pretty and soft looking!
