floral happiness birthday

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with more flowers, this time using the ‘floral happiness’ set by Julie Hickey on a card inspired by a couple of challenges. The colours are from Just Add Ink, together with the elements on the central row of Joanne’s tic tac toe grid for The Paper Players (CAS, flower, birthday_.

I started by stamping the ‘floral happiness’ spray onto a piece of white card that I’d trimmed to fit an A6 card blank.

I then used Distress Oxides and a waterbrush to colour the image. I don’t have the Stampin’ Up! colours in Just Add Ink’s palette, so went with the nearest oxides I could find – ‘evergreen bough’, chipped sapphire’ & ‘picked raspberry’. Once dry, I fussy cut the top edge of the stamped image and attached a piece of Claritystamp’s ‘Antarctica’ paper behind it – it had the right tones of blue and pink.

I finished by stamping the sentiment along the lower edge and then attached the whole piece to the card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. We’re going to be making this card at the local craft group my friend & I are leading this week – hope they all like it!

  1. Great loose watercolouring Deborah and clever paper-piecing too – the paper looks just like sky behind. So pretty! Thanks for playing TicTacToe with us over at The Paper Players this week!
