Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses Stampin’ Up!’s ‘birds and branches’ set, which I always think is great for a slightly different new baby/ baby shower card. I’ve used it quite a few times in various ways and thought of it again when I saw the theme of ‘new’ for the current challenge at Time Out. I teamed it with the colour palette from The Paper Players – it works so well for a spring card and I added brown in as the neutral colour. I based the design on a card I saw a while back on Pinterest, although I can’t recall who made the original one (and I didn’t save it at the time!).
I started by stamping and die cutting the bird, nest and eggs. I don’t have the SU colours in inkpads, so substituted the nearest I have – ‘ripe persimmon’ for the bird (together with ‘walnut stain’), ‘dried marigold’ for the eggs and the ‘walnut stain’ for the nest.

I then trimmed a piece of watercolour card to fit an A6 card blank and used the ‘dried marigold’ and a waterbrush to add a colour wash to the centre. I’ve had this card for ages so it was about time I got round to using it! I then stamped the branches in ‘walnut stain’ and added the leaves with ‘lucky clover’. The sentiment is from the ‘art gallery’ set.

I mounted the watercolour card onto a piece of SU ‘early espresso’ card and then onto the card blank. I added the nest and bird with foam pads and glued the eggs into place.

Thanks for dropping in – hope you like this one. I’m definitely feeling that I’m back in the stamping zone now!
This is very sweet. Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out.

Just adorable! You had me at the BIRD, but the nest and eggs (and that watercolored background) are icing on the cake! Thanks so much for sharing this with the Players this week!
