you inspire me

Hello crafty friends. I’m sharing a card today using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘delicate dahlias’ set that was a freebie as part of the last Sale-a-bration. I have to confess that I haven’t used this set very much, but I do like two-step stamps with outlines and infills. I’ve picked up the theme of ‘inspiration’ (for inspiration!) from the current challenge at Time Out, together with their additional twist of ‘layers’.

I started with a square of white card and randomly stamped the outlines for the large dahlias and the small flowers in ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide, plus the leaves in ‘bundled sage’.

I then cut out the centre of the card with a square nested die and attached the outer frame to a 6×6 kraft card blank.

I used the infill stamps to colour the images on the smaller centre square – ‘chipped sapphire’ for the dahlias, ‘speckled egg’ for the small flowers and ‘bundled sage’ for the leaves. I cut a slightly larger mat from kraft card and layered the floral square onto it, before attaching the whole piece to the card front.

I finished by stamping the sentiment from the set onto a die cut banner and added a few dark blue Glossies.

Thanks for dropping in. Only three sleeps to Christmas now – I’m very happy that I managed to get presents delivered to friends this afternoon, so I haven’t got too much to do tomorrow. Stay safe everyone.
