Hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new theme over at Alphabet Challenge – we’re now up to S and Dawn has challenged us to use silver, which is perfect for this time of year. Our challenge runs until Thursday 30th December, so there’s lots of time to join us.

I decided to go with another of the Claritystamp window dies on this Christmas card – I thought the star would look perfect in silver. The first step was to cut the die into the front of a 6×6 black card blank

I then attached a piece of Clarity’s ‘Antarctica’ designer paper to the inside of the card front, so it showed through the die. I recut the centre of the window die in sparkly silver card and then pieced the star into the die using glue. I love this – it’s very easy but so effective. I find it easiest to leave the card in the die and release one piece at a time, so I don’t get in a muddle as to which bit goes where!

I stamped and heat embossed in silver the sentiment from Clarity’s ‘Christmas rounds – dove’ set and finished with three small silver gems on the opposite side of the window.

I’m also joining in with CASology, where their theme is ‘above’ – that’s definitely what the Christmas star is!
