Hello crafty friends. Bit of a late post today – I’ve had a lovely evening out with friends at a local garden owned by the Royal Horticultural Society that was all lit up for Christmas. It was so beautiful, despite the cold. It’s been a busy day all round, as I also joined an online class this morning with the brilliant Julie Hickey using her ‘fresh florals’ stamps and dies. I carried on this afternoon to make this card.

I started with an A6 card blank and embossed it using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘subtle’ 3D folder. I found a piece of wood effect paper in my stash and attached it across the bottom of the card front.

I die cut ‘happy’ in a turquoise paper using Julie’s ‘happy profile’ die and glued it to sit across the top of the paper strip. I then stamped ‘birthday’ from Julie’s ‘everyday sentiments’ in black Archival.

Next was to stamp, heat emboss in white and die cut several flowers and leaves. I used offcuts of paper in the turquoise, pink and green for this – I’m always happy when I get to use up scraps! I then arranged them in the bottom corner of the card and attached them with foam pads or glue.

The final touch was to add a few black Glossies, just to break up the pastel colours.
