Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card uses a new set of stamps – the poppies that are part of Claritystamp’s linocut collection. I am really getting into using these, after not being so sure about them when they were first launched. Sometimes things just take a while to grow on you.
For this card, I’ve picked up the colours from the new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches – I thought they were perfect for this style of image.

I started with the linocut distressed background stamp and stamped it onto a piece of stencil card using Archival inks – ‘cobalt blue’ across the top and ‘fern green’ for the lower third. I then stamped the linocut poppy, bud and skeleton leaf in black Archival.

I then used the infill stamps to add colour to the image with Archival inks – ‘thistle’ for the flower head, ‘cobalt blue’ for the bud and ‘fern green’ for the leaf. I decided I wanted the background to be a bit less busy, so trimmed the stencil card down to fit an A6 card blank.

I finished by attaching the topper to the card blank and added one of Clarity’s word stickers.

Thanks for dropping in. We’re halfway through the week already – I’m really looking forward to the weekend as I’m off to see my sister for a few days, so for once I’m not complaining about time passing quickly!
Gorgeous card! I love the background! Thanks so much for joining us at CC&S:)
