Welcome to my crafty blog and another card using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘plentiful plants’ set. Thank you cards are always useful to have in my stash, so this week’s theme at Global Design Project was very helpful. I’ve used the colours from this week’s Color Throwdown palette, and also picked up the task from Inspired by‘s challenge to use scraps on our cards (and I do have quite a few of those!)

I started by digging out a few pieces from my scraps box, including a card I’d previously started but used the wrong colour with a background stamp!

I trimmed down the stamped piece of card to give me a backing square and then cut the coloured strips to fit across it with a slight overlap. I wound up switching the pale blue piece for a wider one as I didn’t like them all equally sized when I first laid them out. I embossed the grey piece with SU’s ‘pinewood planks’ folder and the light blue one with the ‘meadow moments’. I then attached all three pieces onto the backing square of white card and then onto a 5×5 card blank.

The next step was to stamp and die cut the leaves from the scrap of white card, together with the plant pot. I embossed the pot using SU’s ‘painted texture’ folder, glued them together and attached them to the card front with a foam pad.

I finished with one of Claritystamp’s word stickers that I thought was just perfect. That’s the only part of this card (and the card blank) that’s not a scrap.

I also want to say a thank you to all of you who follow my crafty play and musings. A couple of new friends have joined us in the last week – great to have you along. This little blog is going to be taking a short holiday for the next week though, so I’ll be back with new creations next weekend. Stay safe everyone.
This is FANTASTIC! Love how you used your scraps, especially the previously stamped image, looks amazing as the leaves and the paint embossing on the pot is cool! Thank you for inspiring us @ IB this week!
