floral spray

Welcome to my crafty blog and some bright flowers today, as we’ve finally got the sunshine back after a few days of heavy rain. If you read my musings regularly you’ll know that this ‘floral spray’ from Claritystamp is one of my favourites, so it had to have an outing now my crafty mojo is back. I was inspired by the current challenge at Less is More, where Elaine has a card for us to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). I paired it with this week’s colours from Color Throwdown

The first step was to stamp the floral spray onto a piece of white card and then colour it with a waterbrush and Distress Oxides. I blended ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘picked raspberry’ onto the flowerheads, ‘mowed lawn’ onto the leaves and then added a touch of the ‘ripe persimmon’ to the small leaves. I picked out the little flowers with a yellow Pergacolour pen and finished by blending ‘squeezed lemonade’ around the edge.

I then stamped one of Julie Hickey’s vertical sentiments onto a 6×6 card blank and then ran it through Stampin’ Up!’s ‘subtles’ embossing folder to give a little texture to the card front.

The final step was to cut the floral spray into several pieces. I went over the cut edges with the ‘squeezed lemonade’ before attaching the image to the card front using foam pads. A few black Glossies just finished it off.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m off to make the most of today’s sunshine!

  1. This is really pretty, Deborah! I love that floral image and how you cut it and sponged the edges! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at the Color Throwdown challenge!
