Welcome to my crafty blog. I recently did an online class with the brilliant Marion Emberson of Sugar and Spice Crafts, using the new stamps she’s designed for Julie Hickey Designs. The ‘Feather It’ set is completely different to anything I’ve got in my stash and I’ve fallen in love with it, so have kept on playing! I have to say, the detail in this feather stamp is just amazing.
I started with a piece of white card trimmed down to fit a 5×7 card blank, and brushed ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide through Claritystamp’s ‘bubbles decorative panel’ stencil to form the background strip. I then stamped the feather in ‘chipped sapphire’ over it and made sure it was fully dry using my heat gun.

I’d used my stamping platform for the feather, so was able to then add WOW clear ink around the edge and restamp it onto the image. I then heat embossed it with WOW’s ‘totally teal’ embossing powder (a great technique from Marion). I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in the ‘chipped sapphire’.

To finish, I attached the topper to the card blank and added a few red Glossies for contrast.

Thanks for dropping in. It’s a gloriously hot weekend here – maybe I should cut out a whole bunch of these feathers to make a fan! In the meantime I’m going to share this card over with Freshly Made Sketches, as their design inspired the layout, and Fusion for the colours in their inspiration photo

I love the feather and fun background! Perfect for both challenges!
