Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s Sunday, so I’m on to the next stamp in my lookback through the Claritystamp new design club – today it’s #92, the ‘row of trees’ from June 2014.

I’ve used this one a few times over the years – I love its clean lines. I decided to use it on a piece of Clarity’s designer card from the ‘Toscana’ set. These are great for creating landscapes, as there’s often a lighter part that you can use for the sky. I trimmed the card down to a 10.5cm square so it would fit on a 12.5cm (5×5) card blank, and then stamped the trees twice in Archival ink. I looked for lines on the card that would look like a hill and then stamped along those – the front row is done in black and the back partial row is in ‘watering can’.

I then used the ‘mountains’ mask from the ‘riverside landscape reflection’ set to create the hills along the base of the trees, using a sponge and black Archival.

Finally, I added the pair of deer, again with the mask from the reflections set and black Archival.

I finished by running a black Sharpie pen around the edge of the card to disguise the white cut edge and then mounted it onto a 5×5 black card blank. I added one of the Clarity word stickers that I thought captured the feel of the little scene.

Thanks for dropping in. It’s a lovely long weekend here in the UK as we have the May bank holiday tomorrow. The weather doesn’t look great though, so I’ll just have to stay indoors and craft!
Super colours! Love it!
