Welcome to my craft blog. I decided to get my Claritystamp background stamps out today for another airing, after watching Barbara Gray earlier on selly telly. They’ve brought these stamps out in new shapes (which are now on my wish list) but I’ve gone with the large square one for this card. I also took inspiration from this week’s ombre theme over at TGIF challenges – you may have noticed by now that I’m a fan of blending inks!

I started by inking up the large background square stamp using Distress Oxides in ‘speckled egg’ and ‘stormy sky’, blending the colour together on the stamp using a sponge. I then spritzed it very lightly with water before stamping it, so I got a bit of texture on the imprint. Next was to position the outline from the ‘treescape’ three way overlay set, which I stamped in black Archival. I then used the infill stamp to fill in the trees using ‘shadow grey’ Archival. At this point I realised I’d forgotten to take any photos, so here’s the progress so far!

I then used the third of the stamps to fill in the background around the trees. I sponged the ‘specked egg’ & ‘stormy sky’ onto the stamp, as I wanted to darken it around the image to give a little contrast with the background stamp without adding further colours.

I mounted the topper onto a 6×6 card blank, and finished it by adding one of the Claritystamp word stickers in black.

Thanks for dropping in. I think you’ll be seeing this stamp set quite a bit more – it’s one of my favourite images from Clarity & I’ve now got it in the stencil and die as well (you can’t have too much of a good thing!)
Oh so pretty! Love the ombre!
