Welcome to my crafty blog. It felt appropriate to share a sympathy card today, on a sombre day in the UK following the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. He was renowned for not liking ‘fuss’, so here’s a very clean and simple card using stamps and dies from Julie Hickey Designs.
I took inspiration for the layout from this week’s design at Freshly Made Sketches

I started by stamping the flower from the ‘fresh florals’ set in ‘shadow grey’ Archival Ink, and then coloured it using ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide and a waterbrush. I cut it out using the co-ordinating die, together with the two large leaves from the ‘delightful daisy’ set. I then brushed ‘speckled egg’ across the inner part of the two leaves.

I then attached the two leaves vertically onto an A6 card blank, to pick up the centre curve on the design sketch.

The flower went neatly in the centre, on a foam pad, and I finished by stamping the sentiment (from Julie Hickey’s ‘loving thoughts’ set) in ‘shadow grey’.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m having a quiet evening tonight, but I’ll be back here tomorrow.
Beautiful card Deborah. Have a lovely creative weekend. Hugs Flo x
