seedpods in spring?

Welcome to my crafty blog. Here’s another masculine card to share with you today, this time using my new ‘enjoy the moment’ stamp set from Stampin’ Up!. I’m not sure that seedpods are around much in spring but, hey, just call it artistic licence! I’ve taken inspiration (and a bit of liberty) with this week’s design over at Freshly Made Sketches

I started by stamping two of the seed heads from the set, using ‘bottle green’ Adirondack ink and then fussy cut them out.

I’d remembered that the reverse side of one of the papers in the SU ‘forever greenery’ set was a really nice stripe pattern, so decided to use that as all the ones with leaves, etc, just looked too busy. I cut a piece down to fit on a 5×7 card blank, and then cut a small rectangle of white card which I embossed using the ‘tasteful texture’ folder and also attached to the card front. This is where I adapted the design a wee bit – I’ve used a rectangle rather than a square, and I have got a stripe running behind it, it’s just there are a few more as well!

To finish, I stamped the sentiment from the set onto a small piece of card, again using the ‘bottle green’. I fixed the seed heads onto the white card using Pinflair glue, so they weren’t sat flat, and added the sentiment using foam pads.

Thanks for dropping in. It’s been a beautiful day here today – I managed to get out for a walk this afternoon after a couple of online meetings. Looking forward to more sunshine over the weekend.
