corner bouquet

Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card uses another of the new stamp sets I recently got – this time the ‘corner bouquet’, one of the Sale-A-Bration packs from Stampin’ Up! I’ve taken inspiration from a couple of this week’s blog challenges – TGIF has ‘sale-a-bration’ as it’s theme (hence the decision on the stamp set) and the layout picks up the photo image from Just Add Ink

I started with a small square of white card and blended ‘spun sugar’ Distress Ink across it, keeping the colour focus towards the lower left. I then positioned the card on the front of a 5×5 card blank, holding it in place with a piece of masking tape, and stamped the floral spray to sit across the bottom left corner.

Because I’d used my stamping platform, I was then able to lift the small square of card off and restamp the image onto the card blank, so that I didn’t have any gaps.

Next step was to create the wall effect on the small card square, using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘brick & mortar’ embossing folder. Once done, I attached the square back onto the front of the card blank, positioning it so the floral spray lined up

I finished by die cutting a small oval of white card and stamping the sentiment from another Sale-A-Bration set – ‘punch party’. I just felt this image worked for a get well card.

Thanks fir dropping in. I’ve posted this blog earlier than usual as I’m spending the day helping my son move into his new flat, and I’m really not sure how I’ll be feeling this evening after a day of vigorous exercise!

  1. Your combination of strong silhouette image with lots of texture is simple but very striking Deborah and really captures the spirit of the inspiration picture! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week. Kim
