Welcome to my crafty blog. I decided it was time I got a stencil out to play with – I can’t remember when this one from Claritystamp last saw the light of day! I’ve been doing a lot of ink blending recently, so went for something different and jazzed it up with a few WOW embossing powders.
I started with the hearts stencil from the Clarity ‘basic backgrounds’ set and attached it to a piece of smooth white card that I’d cut down to fit a 5×7 card blank. I then ran it through my embossing machine to give the hearts some definition (you can do this with Clarity stencils as they are very robust).

I kept the stencil taped in place, and pressed a WOW embossing ink pad across the hearts, to cover them all. I then lifted the stencil off quickly, and used three toning WOW powders to cover the inked hearts. You need to add each colour in turn, and I aimed to sprinkle it across a third of the card each time. I used ‘glamour green’, ‘aquamarine’ and ‘totally teal’, making sure I’d shaken off the excess and put it back in the pot before moving on to the next colour. I then heated the whole piece to set the powder.

Next step was to die cut a small heart in white card, using the Clarity nested hearts die, and stamp the sentiment in ‘mermaid lagoon’ Distress Oxide. I then stamped a small heart and embossed that in the ‘totally teal’. The heart sat nicely on the card topper with foam pads, after I’d attached it to the card blank.

Love this effect – the WOW powders are just fantastic to work with. I’m going to share this card in this week’s challenge from The Paper Players where the theme is hearts or stars – I think it just about fits!

Beautiful! Love the sparkle!
