Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve been playing with a new stamp set today that only arrived in the post this morning – Claritystamp’s ‘Love Heart Doodle’. It’s a gorgeous intricate design, and I decided it would look great embossed in white on kraft card.
I started by stamping the ‘love’ word outline in Archival ‘red geranium’ across the centre of a square of kraft card. I then covered it up with the letter masks that come as part of the set and stamped the doodle heart across it, this time using WOW clear embossing ink pad. I carefully peeled the masks off the letters and then covered the image with WOW super fine bright white embossing powder, ready to heat it. There was a bit of a snag at this point, as the masks left the card very slightly tacky & so a light covering of powder clung to them as well. I carefully used a narrow paintbrush to dust the powder off the letters before heating the embossing powder.

Next step was to colour in the letters, using the infill stamp from the set. I used Distress Oxide in ‘festive berries’, and stamped it a couple of times, so that I could add a deeper shade to the bottom of the letters. I then twice stamped one of the small hearts in the set off to the side.

I finished by mounting the kraft square onto a larger piece of white card, and then attaching it to a 6×6 kraft card blank.

I love the detailed in the stamp, and the embossing powder really brings it out. I might try this in other colours as well. I’m going to share this card over at Addicted To CAS where this week’s challenge theme is ‘pattern’.
