Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m back today with the second installment of my lookback through the Claritystamp New Design Club stamps from when I first joined. Today’s card is made with the ‘Be The Change’ sentiment that was the club stamp for edition #75, back in January 2013. I have actually used this a few times over the years – it’s a really good sentiment if someone is starting a new job or heading off on new adventures.
I did previously blog it back in October last year – here’s the link and a quick pic if you haven’t seen it: Be the change you want to see in the world

Anyway, back to today’s card. I decided to use the sentiment with the lovely ‘butterfly tree’ tree from Clarity, as it really picks up the sense of change and transformation. I started by masking off a panel on a piece of white card that I’d cut down to fit on a 5×7 card blank. I then blended Distress Oxides across it (blueprint sketch and mustard seed) using a brush. Again, blending the inks into each other for an ombre effect gives a feeling of change.

I then stamped the ‘butterfly tree’ in black Archival in, followed by the sentiment so that I could position it to flow out from the tree.

All I then needed to do was attach the topper to the card blank, and it was finished. I took the inspiration for the layout from this week’s sketch over at CAS colours and sketches challenge, so will be sharing it there.

Absolutely gorgeous CAS. Love the sentiment!

This is beautiful Deborah – not just the sentiment, but a great technique for a one layer card. Beautifully CAS! Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours and Sketches this week!
