Sympathy spray

Welcome to my crafty blog. Just a quick post tonight, with another sympathy card (I’m needing to make too many of these at present). I turned to an old favourite – the Stampin Up! ‘Flourishing Phrases’ set which is now retired, and used the colours from this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (http://www.colorthrowdown.blogspot.com)

I started by stamping the large floral spray in Adirondack’ espresso’ across the top and bottom of a square of cream card, and then adding the sentiment across the centre. I watercoloured the leaves in with the ‘espresso’ ink, but didn’t have a rust colour so blended Adirondack ‘ginger’ and Distress Ink ‘fired brick’ to watercolour the flowers.

All I then needed to do was mat the cream square onto a larger piece of dark brown card, and then attach it to the front of a 5×5 card blank.

This is a versatile design, and could be used for different occasions just by changing the colours on the card. Thanks for dropping by – I’ll be back with another post tomorrow.
