Florals without the frame

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve been playing with one of the Claritystamp ‘floral frame’ dies – this is the ‘happy birthday’ one. I decided to do something a bit different with this card though, and didn’t use the frame, only the florals!

I started by cutting an oval aperture into the front of a 5×7 card blank, with it in landscape orientation. I then cut a piece of the Claritystamp ‘Antarctica’ designer paper and attached it to the inside of the card front, to fill in the aperture.

I had another off cut piece from the ‘Antarctica’ pack, so I cut the large floral part of the die out of that twice, and then fussy cut them to trim them out of the frame. I’d remembered to put ‘Stick It’ on the back of the paper before die cutting, so the pieces were ready for the next stage.

I then attached the floral sprays on either side of the oval aperture. The colours blended really well with the paper behind the aperture, as they were out of the same pack, although not the same sheet.

I finished by stamping the ‘with love’ sentiment in Archival ‘watering can’. The stamp is from ‘Barbara’s Christmas Sentiments’, and I’ve left space to be able to personalise it further as it’s Valentine’s Day next month and Mothering Sunday in March.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll be back tomorrow with another card to share.
