Welcome to my crafty blog. Today I’m sharing a birthday card I made for a friend who’s a keen birdwatcher. I recently got this lovely ‘four little songbirds’ stamp from Crafty Individuals (CI-184), so used it to make this simple card.
I started by stamping the songbirds in black onto a piece of Claritystamp’s ‘Amazonia’ designer paper, and then cut them into the four individual pictures. I used the reverse side of the paper for this, where the colours were more muted, and then added extra shading with my Spectrum Noir pencils.

I then mounted the four small squares onto a piece of black card, and matted that with another square of the ‘Amazonia’ paper. This time I used the front of the paper with the brighter colours. Having the double sided papers is really helpful, as the colours will always tone well together.

The whole topper then went onto a black 6×6 card blank. I was really pleased with the way the colours stood out against the black card.
This is beautiful! Loving all the colors!
