Joy to the world 2

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m back today with another Christmas card, this time using the Stampin’ Up ‘Peace and Joy’ set. I love the die cut words with the matching mounts in this set – they look so much better than mounted with a straight edge. It’s really feeling now like we’re starting to edge towards Christmas, with just over two weeks to go to Advent Sunday.

I’ve used the current sketch from the Fab Friday Challenge for this card (http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/), and want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the team there for picking my last entry as one of their Fab Four! I was thrilled – check out my blog ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ for that card.

I started this card by stamping some stars onto a piece of dark blue paper and heat embossing them with WOW powder in gold satin pearl. The smaller stars are from the SU ‘Peace and Joy’ set, and the larger one is from Claritystamp. I then attached a strip on white card onto the side before mounting the starry paper onto a larger piece of gold sparkle card and then an A6 card blank

Next was to cut out ‘joy’ in gold card, and the backing mount in white. I also stamped ‘to the world’ and embossed it with the WOW powder before trimming it down to leave a narrow white border. These both then sat nicely on the front of the card

I love the effect of the white and gold against the dark blue. I’ve been busy making several more of these cards to add to my pile that are now waiting to be written and addressed. It doesn’t seem to matter how early I start making Christmas cards, I’m always in a rush to get enough finished in time!
