Snowflake wreath

Welcome to my crafty blog. Here’s another Christmas card I made, this time going for a bit more of a wintry feel with the blue and white. This card is pretty much all die cut other than the sentiment (which isn’t my usual style), and I used several Stampin’ Up! sets to make it.

I started with the circular die from the ‘Swirly Scribbles’ thinlits dies, which I’ve had for a few years. I cut it out of white card, but then decided it would look better if it sparkled, so pressed a clear ink pad over it and then heat embossed it with clear sparkle powder. It just gave the design a bit more dimension. I then mounted it onto a square of blue paper, cut to fit on a 5×5′ card blank

Next was to die cut the white snowflakes and blue berries, this time with dies from the ‘Snowfall’ thinlits set. The centres for the snowflakes are just left over bits from some old peel-offs.

Finally, I die cut the little scalloped oval from a set of nested dies (using the leftover card from the middle of the circle), and then stamped the sentiment from the ‘Peaceful Noel’ set.

That’s it for a fairly simple card. I’m going to enter into this week’s TGIF blog challenge (http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/), where the theme is ‘going in circles’. There’s quite a few on this card, with the scribbly swirl and the circles on the berries….!
