Hello and welcome. Thanks for dropping in. I wanted to share a card today that I made for friends who’ve just got engaged. I used the ‘be happy’ stamp set by Julie Hickey, which was perfect for the occasion!
I started with a piece of the designer paper from Claritystamp – this one is from the ‘Barb’s favourites’ mini pack, and is perfect for stamping on (and I love the colours!). I stamped the large flower from the set in clear ink and then embossed it with ‘peridot’ embossing powder from Wow’s ‘Gemstone’ collection. I then fussy cut it, as I wanted to mount it back onto the backing paper

I then cut the remaining piece of paper to size and stamped the sentiment along the bottom edge, using ‘eggplant’ from Adirondack. I love the way these colours tone together

Next was to glue the flower back onto the paper, lining it up with the top edge. The great thing about using one piece of paper for this style card is that there’s no problem in getting the colours to tone together

Finally, I mounted it onto a mat in co-ordinating purple, and then onto a 5×7 card blank, using it in landscape orientation

I love the richness of the sparkle from the embossing powder against the purple. It’s so lovely as well to have happy news at the moment, as everything else still seems so uncertain. I have managed to re-retire from work though, so am planning to indulge myself with more time for crafting and blogging (when not sorting the house out!).
