Hello crafty friends! I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend – I had a great day with the family and then have travelled down to the West country with friends today, to spend the next few days in Minehead in Somerset (and the sun’s shining!) It seemed fitting then, as I’m on the coast, to share this design with you, from my Clarity Social TV show last month, featuring one of the Kent Garden of England stamps.- they actually work for lots of country scenes, not just Kent!

I started with one of the 7×7 Spring/Summer Landscape Backdrop Print pieces and cut it into four, to give me a 3.5″ topper – actually, it’s slightly smaller than that as I trimmed the side off the piece I wanted to use as well (it’s the top left in this pic).

I stamped the lighthouse scene onto the card with black Archival ink, making use of the printed design to fill in the colours for the image. I then used a selection of blue, brown & green Polychromo pencils to add more depth to the scene, just picking out part of the image to highlight or deepen the tones. I used a grey pencil to shade the lighthouse and then ran a black Sharpie around the card edges.

I grabbed one of my favourite square embedders to emboss a frame with a ball tool onto the front of a 5×5 card blank and sat the topper inside it, finishing with one of the I Am Essential – Birthday sentiments.

I’m definitely hoping for some good days down here in Minehead this week! I’m going to share this card with a couple of current challenges, Seize the Birthday and Allsorts, both of which have ‘anything goes’ options.
