Hello crafty friends. Well, the envelope containing the April stamps from Clarity’s Craft Club dropped through my door today, so I thought I’d better get my act together and put the March stamps into action! It’s a fab little set of trees and bunting – I kept it simple with a birthday card incorporating some of the figures from the Build a Landscape – Trees & People stamps, inspired by one of the designs by my DT buddy Jane on the project sheet.

My starting point was a piece of the Pastel Rainbow Paper, which I trimmed down to fit on a 5×5 card blank. I first stamped the two pieces of birthday bunting into the centre, then added the trees on either side – that way I could make sure I’d got enough space between the trees! Apologies, as I forgot to take a pic with the trees stamped into place!

Anyway, here they are now! I shaded them in with two green Polychromo pencils, then stamped the figures from the Build a Landscape set – I’m not sure what Health & Safety (or Social Services!) would have to say about the little lad balancing on his dad’s shoulders to reach into the tree! Clearly the other chap is a much more responsible parent… 😂 Once the figures were stamped, I shaded in the ground with the green Polychromo, scribbling roughly for a bit of texture.

I added a few birds with a micron pen, together with bows at the ends of the bunting (didn’t want it to fall from the trees!). I then spent a while trying to sort out a mount – in the end I went with another piece of the Pastel Rainbow paper, but reversed it to contrast with the topper. I used Pritt stick to glue the two layers together and to attach it to the 5×5 card blank, and then it was done!

There are so many little Clarity figures in their range of stamps it was difficult to know which to choose! The great thing about that is that I could take this layout and simply change the figures to personalise the design for the recipient – what’s not to like?!
