Hello everyone. After watching Barbara on HobbyMaker TV yesterday, I was inspired to have another play with the new Lovebird stamps, this time just using the single bird image rather than the whole circle design and sitting him on one of the Landscape Backdrop Tags.

I found a great little tag in my pack with a lovely combination of pink & teal tones, then stamped the single bird outline in black Archival, adding a few of the smaller leaves to his branch.

Next was to reach for my Polychromo pencils (you won’t be surprised to know that they live at the side of my craft desk!) and shaded in the images using ‘earth green’ & ‘ultramarine’ from the Winter set and ‘pink madder lake’ from Spring. I don’t know why, but my phone camera always seems to enhance blue tones on my photos – the bird looks like he’s a royal blue shade, but the pencil is actually more of a petrol blue!

Anyway, once colours, I added one of the Art Deco sentiments below the branch plus a mount of pink Antarctica companion paper and then simply attached the topper to an A6 card blank.

We’re still in a fair bit of chaos with the new kitchen being installed – most of the units are now in place and will hopefully be finished tomorrow, which means we’ll be able to move lots of stuff back over the weekend. My poor craft room is currently a storage facility, although I have got just enough space to get to the desk, but that meant this had to be a quick and easy card with things that were already in reach! Anyway, that said, I took inspiration for the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and used the palette from Creative Colour, hence my frustration with the camera phone altering the teal pencil shading! Hey ho!
