Hi everyone. I’m back with another look at one of the new Floral Elements stamp sets and sample layouts swatches, this time picking Set 6 for a birthday card, opting to use a piece of designer paper for the background rather than stencil card – and hopefully you can see which of the swatches inspired this card.

So, starting with a piece of Antarctica designer paper, I ran a piece of low tack tape across it for a guideline and stamped a row of the small single flower with ‘watering can’ Archival Ink.

Next was to add the rose trip, drawing their stems with a micron pen and adding the little leaves, before shading with Polychromo pencils (Pink Madder Lake, Madder & Permanent Green Olive).

I added the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment from the sketch (it’s so helpful that there are two options for each sentiment, with them in single and double rows), followed by a narrow white mount and a layer of Antarctica companion paper. I then simply popped it onto a 5×5 card blanl.

I’ll be catching Barbara’s shows on HobbyMaker TV from 1-3pm today for more inspiration. I’m also going to share this with a couple of challenges, having picked up the pink, green & blue from Color Dare‘s pastel palette and ‘anything goes’ for Love Those Pretty Papers
